Our Mission
The Vancouver Conference has a 12-member board of directors that sets policy and oversees the business affairs of the conference.
Inspired by the Gospel values of charity and compassion for all, and in an effort to promote human dignity, the Vancouver St. Vincent de Paul Society Conference provides food, clothing, shelter and other forms of assistance to people in need.
The Society of St. Vincent de Paul is an international Catholic lay organization. Key to the Society's active ministry is the person-to-person involvement of our member volunteers. Because they see the face of Jesus Christ in the people whom they serve, their primary purpose is to bring the love and peace of Christ to those who are in need.

Carolyn Palmer
Executive Director
Carolyn has been an active member of St. Vincent de Paul Society since 2008, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Vancouver. In July 2016, she was hired as the executive director. Her passion to serve others, listen and adapt to changing daily situations at SVdP is a top priority.
Sylvia Van
Operations Manager
Sylvia started volunteering at St. Vincent de Paul in 2001. She was hired as a part-time employee in February 2003 and became a full-time employee in December 2004. Her dedication and experience to inspire clients and volunteers show daily as she serves others.
Philip Sobota
Warehouse Manager
Philip began volunteering in the summer of 2014. As a stay at home dad, he and his young family spent hours assisting our ministry each summer and during school breaks. During COVID-19, Philip was able to provide more assistance and we are delighted he joined our team in November 2020! His dedication to serve others, his kind heart, and his long history of service is greatly appreciated by everyone.
Dan Quitugua
Custodian
Dan is an active member of St. Vincent de Paul Society since 2015 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Vancouver. He was hired as a part-time employee in September 2017 and maintains our clean facility.
